The Hospice Compliance Network offers exceptional services and value to assist hospices develop and maintain effective corporate compliance programs. The Hospice Compliance Network offers the "Guidance Line." Through this national toll free service, hospices can offer their employees, volunteers and others the ability to register their concerns regarding actions that they believe violate the hospice's own policies and procedures or are fraudulent or abusive. The OIG has stated that providing a secure toll free reporting line that protects the anonymity of the caller and assures the caller that there will be no retribution for reporting concerns is one of the keys to an effective compliance program.
The Hospice Compliance Network also provides a communication package that includes a bi-monthly newsletter, "The Hospice Compliance Letter," that is available to download. Additionally, the communication package provides "alerts" on important compliance related issues to its subscribers. Members maintain a dialogue on the HCN Listserv, where policies, forms and compliance information can be shared.
